Cancer Care

As a team, we have many offerings to help support those going through treatment for any kind of cancer. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, and lymphatic therapy are all beautiful and helpful ways to care for oneself during this physically and emotionally taxing time. From the moments leading up to getting that life-changing diagnosis to caring for yourself in remission, stress and anxiety can be off the charts. Self-care in any form is so critical to creating a loving relationship with your body as you navigate the betrayal one often feels during this time. If surgery is required to remove the cancer or a body part, we honor and support patients in that loss and trauma and as always, refer to other trusted practitioners when there is a need outside of what we offer in-house.

So many changes take place during treatments. Chemotherapy can cause nausea, sleeplessness, changes in mood and appearance. Targeted therapy, hormonal suppression, steroids, antihistamines, anti-nausea, and any other medicines required or opted for to survive this disease become the new normal and our services are wonderful for helping to combat the side-effects of these medications. Some common side-effects of western cancer treatments that we treat are nausea, vomiting, aches/pains, insomnia, neuropathy, digestive disorders, and more. We can decrease the impact of radiation helping to clear the excess heat and nourish the skin. The insertion of needles stimulates your immune system helping with white blood cell production. Acupuncture also reduces systemic inflammation and increases blood flow.

Many western approaches (though they are life-saving) break your body down. Our services can help your body rebuild so that you can feel like yourself again.

Lymphatic care is beneficial patients experiencing lymphedema as well as those that have no obvious lymphatic impairment or swelling. The lymph system is closely tied to your immune function and this kind of work can also have great impact on providing relaxation and promoting ease and rest. Lymphatic work and acupuncture are a great way to prepare the body for surgery as well aiding in post-op recovery.

Massage therapy can help alleviate tension from stress as well as aches and pains that can come along with western treatments. We tailor all of our treatments and work closely with the patient to ensure comfort. And most importantly, we care about your experience through this journey. We strive to provide a safe space for the client to feel seen, heard, and nurtured.
